Photograph the handoff
Take current photos or video of the gown, labels, accessories and disclosed condition. Continue photographing as you fold, protect and seal the package. Save these with the transaction and shipping records.

From garment bag to delivery scan
Prepare a clean workspace
Wash and dry your hands, remove jewelry that could snag fabric, and use a clean, dry surface away from food, pets, smoke and moisture.
Support delicate areas
Fasten closures without straining them. Use clean, acid-free tissue where appropriate to cushion folds, sleeves, bodice structure and embellishments.
Fold loosely and evenly
Fold the skirt inward in stages, placing tissue between layers when suitable. Avoid crushing cups, boning, bows or three-dimensional appliqué.
Add moisture protection
Place the protected gown inside a clean inner garment or protective bag before it enters the box. Never seal a damp or freshly steamed dress.
Choose a sturdy box
Use a new or sound corrugated box sized to prevent excessive movement without compressing the gown. Seal every opening with shipping tape.
Ship with a record
Use tracking and consider insurance plus signature confirmation based on the gown’s value. Send the buyer the tracking number and keep the receipt.
