This gown is absolutely stunning! I can't tell you how many complitments I received! I also love that it is stretchy...I was comfortable during all the events of the day and I was never too hot either...with spanx and a bustea as well...that says a lot in itself lol! The body of the dress is made of an ivory stretch Mikado that is defintiely built for comfort but also a heavier silk that maintains the form of the dress perfectly. The bottom portion is hand cut tissue organza flange that has a destructured and beautifully textured look, providing perfect juxtapostion. The train extends 2-3ft behind and is absolutley incredible.
The dress has one flaw unfotunately. I wore some serious makeup to cover my back tattoo the day of and the cleaners were unable to remove it. The dress has a reddish hue on the inside of the dress on the left, upper side of the back. Good news, it is on the inside and IS NOT visible from the outside....no matter how you move etc....it is completely concealed.
I wish I had the money and the space to make a massive glass case with the perfect lighting to display this dress in my closet that would also keep it preserved (people actually do this) but alas....I live in the normal middle class world lol! This dress made my day so perfectly special and I truly felt absolutely gorgeous wearing it....I can only hope that selling her will do THE VERY SAME thing for another bride who deserves her perfect day while looking and feeling nothing less than flawless!
DRESS ALTERATIONS
I had my gown altered at a shop in Dallas, Altered for the Altar. She has been in the business a long time and is quite honestly, one of the best out there! The dress length was slightly hemmed to make it look completely seamless as it was a just a hair too long, but very minimal. I originally bought the dress as a size 16, just in case I couldn't lose the weight, and was tailored down to fit me perfectly right before the event: 38 bust (34D), 30 waist, 38 hips
